Immersive Room — A Plurality of Listening Experiences
The Royal Building of Mafra is celebrated for its extraordinary ensemble of two carillons and six organs. An immersive room now offers new listening experiences, with a constantly changing programme. Discover it here.
Media Library
In addition to a collection of musical instruments, the National Museum of Music also houses a music library, alongside phonograms, scores, iconography and a wide range of documentation. The Media Library is open Wednesday to Saturday, from 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The Invention of the Future
The final room of the exhibition, an antechamber to the Royal Library of Mafra, is also a space for more intimate concerts where our National Treasures can often be heard, bringing together music’s past, present and future!
Auditorium
Some concerts take place in this specially treated space, designed to offer the best acoustics!
With capacity for up to 120 people, this space can be made available to external organisations upon request at geral@museunacionaldamusica.pt.
